PlaySportsTV.com is a brand new broadband channel dedicated to youth sports coaching and instruction. The site, designed for use by parents, coaches and kids, offers detailed video tips, drills, instructional guides, feature articles, interactive training and analysis tools and more for all major youth sports.
PlaySportsTV.com is literally a one-stop source for youth sports instruction and information for kids, parents and coaches. In addition to our extensive library of instructional videos-which blend the traditional TV experience with the searchability, immediacy and accessibility of the Web-we also offer the following features:
Articles and other content promoting sportsmanship and the impact of sports on the development of character. Interaction with members of our national network of coaches, who will answer sport-specific questions via their blogs. Blogs, user-generated videos and other community features to facilitate the sharing of information among all site visitors.
We want kids to play sports, and to have a good time doing so. PlaySportsTV.com is designed to give kids, parents and coaches the resources to do just that.
The PlaySportsTV.com Team
The PlaySportsTV.com team has more than 65 years’ experience in media development, much of it in interactive media. We have a proven track record for successfully reaching target audiences with rich media materials that provide the information and interactivity they are looking for.
We also know sports. We have youth sports coaching experience, kids who enjoy sports and are active (and aging) athletes ourselves. We’ve also managed a national sports magazine for kids, and have an extensive network of coaches, athletes and other youth sports experts to ensure our content is accurate, timely and packed with practical advice.

Douglas Donaldson – President and Founder
Doug has over 20 years’ experience developing, producing, licensing and distributing television and rich media content. Doug has had many programs commissioned by PBS and cable networks, including Déjà vu All Over Again (the definitive Yogi Berra biography) and Baseball’s Secret Formula (a look at Bill James and sabermetrics). Doug was just nominated for a Sports Emmy Award for a series of shorts produced in association with Discovery Communications.
Prior to founding PlaySportsTV, Doug co-founded a boutique new media company, Small Screen Strategies, which worked with clients to facilitate the delivery and sale of rich content in the emerging wireless and broadband markets.Doug was also the President of Donaldson Media Management, a media and rights management firm based in Princeton, New Jersey. His clients included Microsoft Corporation, Clear Channel Entertainment Television, Conde Nast Publications, Fountain Mobile, and Digital Cinema Solutions.
Over the past two years, Doug has successfully executed a number of media initiatives using emerging technologies such as live webcasting, text messaging, etc.
Doug coaches his son Jack in lacrosse and is an avid rower, runner, tennis player, and surfer.
Paul Crapol – Managing Editor
Paul has experience writing, editing, project managing, and executive producing. At Cerebellum Corporation, Paul wrote scripts and was an executive producer for a line of educational DVDs and Standard Deviants TV. At Democracy Data & Communications, Paul wrote comprehensive website, paid and earned media, and outreach materials for a wide range of online and traditional advocacy campaigns. Paul's freelance writing clients have included National Geographic, America's 400th Anniversary, Goldhil Entertainment, and many others.
Rick Tramontana - Director of Production Services
Rick has over 26 years of video experience includes National Television credits with network broadcasters. Producer, director, technical director, camera operator, audio engineer, video engineer, editor, encode specialist, and small business owner are just a few job descriptions Rick has held during his career. Prior to joining PlaySportsTV, Rick was in charge of all technical and digital distribution services for Films Media Group.
Chris Lindsley – Senior Writer
Chris has more than 20 years’ experience as an editor and writer in both traditional and interactive media, most of which is sports related. He served as Editor of KidSports, a national sports magazine for kids, more than 15 college football and basketball publications and as Custom Publishing Editor for Pro Sports Publications, the national leader in sports program publishing.
Chris also has 7 years’ experience as editor of sports and consumer health Web sites. The sites he’s managed have won several prestigious awards for outstanding content, and are known for their interactive features.
Chris has a lot of youth coaching experience, including baseball and basketball, as well as his daughter Olivia’s softball team. He has completed two marathons, enjoys playing basketball, golf and tennis, and never misses a televised Penn State football game.
