Blogs
What is a blog?
A blog (short for “Web log”) is a Web site in which the writer makes frequent entries. Many blogs, such as those on PlaySportsTV, offer advice, tips, and commentary on a particular subject; others function as an online journal or diary.
Blogs give readers the ability to leave comments, allowing blog readers to interact with the bloggers, who also often answer these questions.
How can I ask your bloggers a question?
Just click on the “Comments” link at the end of any specific blog post. Fill out the form, then click “Post.”
How do I subscribe to a blog?
Subscribing to a blog means being alerted to any new posts on your favorite blogs.
You use something called an aggregator to tell you when there’s a new post and then you retrieve the update. So subscribing is the process of telling the aggregator that you want it to start tracking a blog.
There are many aggregators to choose from. One of the best is Bloglines.
What is an RSS Feed?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are free content feeds from Web sites like PlaySportsTV.com that contain either a summary of content or the full text from an associated Web site.
RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite Web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually.
In the case of PlaySportsTV.com, you can get the feeds for any of our blogs by clicking on the “Get the Feed” link in the header.
RSS content can be read using software called an “RSS reader,” “feed reader” or an “aggregator.”
The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed’s link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user’s subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.
I’m a youth sports expert and would like to host a blog on your site. Who do I contact about this?
Please send us an e-mail outlining your interest and qualifications to contact@playsportstv.com.
