Jason Levitt: We're going to show you the defensive back stance, which the stance starts every defensive play. We're going to start off with his feet, they should be shoulder-width apart directly underneath his armpits. Both feet should be pointing straight ahead. The inside foot, which is the foot closer to the ball, should be slightly forward. The next part, he needs to bend at the knees, keeping his knees in front of his toes. The next part is you need to bend at the waist with your shoulders, kind of lean forward a little bit, your shoulders should be over your knees. Again, straight back, head up, eyes up.
What we do is try to stay in the stance as long as we can. We do a quick drill, like a stance drill to make sure that the balance is correct, because if your balance is a little bit too forward, would you just lean forward a little bit, and you hold it for awhile, you'll lean forward. If it's too far back, you'll lean back and if you have to hold it for about 20 seconds, you'll really have a good balance. Get in a good stance and just hold it, again just to go over, his feet are straight, they are shoulder-width apart, knees are in front of the toes back is straight, shoulders over the knees, head up and eyes up. That's how we do our stance here. You can relax. Good job, Kadeem.
