Lou Marinelli: We're going to talk about the spacing now of the offensive line, how far they are, the distance between, the guard and the center, the distance between the center and the guard. Generally, we have two foot splits in between the center and the guard and we have 2½-foot splits in between the guard and the tackle. They can be up on the ball real close or they can move back. By rules, it says, if you could just go down, that the hat or the helmet of the guards have to be within the number of the center, so if you want them back off the ball, OK, they have to be within that. If you want them up tight and very close because you want to get into the defense right away, they can move up right to the top of the numbers. Either way, based on your philosophy of offense of what you want to do.
