Lou Marinelli: No offensive lineman is any good unless they are in a good stance – that is one of basic things and something that we work on everyday is our stances. We're going to have Mike, our center, show you how to get into a proper stance. First thing we'd like to do is we'd like to have him put his hands on his knees. He's balanced; he's down on his knees. From here, get his elbows down on his knees. Now he's going to put his dominate hand down – his right hand down and notice how he has his fingers down on the turf. Not his knuckles, just his fingers. He should be out just a little bit further and his right foot should be slightly brought back so that you have a heel/toe relationship. His right toe is even with his left heel. Notice that his fingers are down on the turf, his head is up, his back is flat and he's ready to fire out.

Let's look at it now with the rest of the offensive line. Let's get up and get in our stance, hands on our knees, elbows on our knees, down and put your dominate hand down, heel/toe relationship, head up and this is what it would look like when we went out on Friday night to play a football game. Their heads are up, their backs are flat, they’re balanced; they are able to go right and left and execute the blocking schemes that we're going to need to be successful on Friday night.
