Paul Riley: Today we are going to talk about chest control, a valuable weapon in the game to be able to get the ball down to the ground as quickly as you can. If you chest it wrongly, you bring in pressure and you probably turn the ball over. I'm going to show you how to do it today. Make sure you turn your chest towards the front that you’re going to bring the ball down to, or away from the pressure of the opponent. Here we go, ball comes toward you, chest and drop to your feet. The faster you get the ball to your feet, the better it is for you. Watch again, ball comes in; chest and down to your feet and off you go into space.
Here is a simple drill that you can do: in chest, down left falling, around the cone; chest, right foot falling. Little bit higher, Bridget. Chest left and chest right. Good, now it's your turn. Make sure you get it down to your right foot in this direction; right, beautiful, Bridge. And again, soften the touch, good and again, make it a good one; quick acceleration out. One more lefty, beautiful.

Switch over, Arianna, chest down, right foot. Make sure that ball doesn't touch the floor. Chest, left foot; keep it off the floor for me. Chest, right foot, good. Notice how she arches back and – bang – well done. Chest, right foot, good, nice, soft, beautiful.

So to wrap it up on chest control, remember a couple of things. Do not just chest it forward, that will bring pressure in for the opponent and you will turn the ball over. Always chest it to one side, soak the ball up nice and soft and get it down to your foot so you can accelerate into space and keep on playing. Good luck!
