Coaching Youth Lacrosse: PlaySportsTV’s New On-line Training Plan Provides Great Lacrosse Drills, Skills and Tips

An entire season’s worth of youth lacrosse training

Princeton, NJ (April 6, 2009) – As the fastest-growing youth sport in the United States, lacrosse has become so popular that it’s been hard to meet the demand for excellent youth lacrosse coaching.

While a lacrosse stick is said to be a player’s best friend, a lacrosse coach’s best friend just might be the newly redesigned PlaySportsTV.com website. The leading on-line youth sports coaching and instructional resource in the United States announced today the launch of its professionally developed PlaySportsTV training plan, Coaching Youth Lacrosse.

Designed specifically for boys’ lacrosse coaches, parents, and athletes, Coaching Youth Lacrosse is an easy-to-use, web-based training plan containing over 70 instructional video segments, with accompanying notes. An entire season of youth lacrosse drills and tips, for beginner through intermediate players, are delivered on-line in a week-by-week format that presents the essential lacrosse training that young players need to have. The training plan covers all the lacrosse fundamentals, including passing, catching, dodges, shooting, defense and goalie play.

As a partner with Major League Lacrosse, PlaySportsTV.com is something of an authority when it comes to lacrosse, working with many of the world’s top players like Mikey Powell, Matt Ward, and Chazz Woodson to provide outstanding lacrosse drills and instruction. Coaching Youth Lacrosse taps into top lacrosse coaching in the Baltimore area, a hotbed for the sport. It features coach Keith Gonsouland of River Hill High School and coach Risto Worthington of Glenelg Country School. Both played professionally in the National Lacrosse League.

In addition to its use by individual coaches and parents, teams and leagues are adopting the Coaching Youth Lacrosse training plan as a way to provide a consistent set of youth lacrosse training and coaching tips for all coaches and players.

“Our Training Plans deliver effective tips for new coaches while offering fresh ideas from proven professionals to improve the practice habits of even the most experienced coaches,” says Doug Donaldson, founder of PlaySportsTV.com.  “We’re providing training on how to be a good coach along with all the teaching tools necessary to help kids excel and have fun.”
