Coach Bill Thom: In this segment, we're going to talk about the Triple Threat, and moving from the Triple Threat position to the shooting position. So let's get in the Triple Threat right now. Again, when we go into Triple Threat, our feet are going to be shoulder's width apart, knees bent, back is straight, shoulders are level, eyes are level. We have our shooting hand under the ball and back, in a Triple Threat, that's what we would call the shooting pocket. If Ian didn't have the ball and I was looking to pass to him, he wants that shooting pocket so when the ball comes, he's right into his Triple Threat.

So, again, the ball is out of his hands, he's waiting for a pass, he's got the shooting pocket, the ball comes in. Going from the shooting pocket, Triple Threat, into the shooting position, this elbow which is pointing out behind him, just simply rotates under and points to the floor. He goes with very little movement from Triple Threat to shooting movement. We don't want to bring the ball out and up, which you'll see a lot of players make that mistake; because as it comes out, and I'm a defender, I can steal the ball from him.

So, he needs to have that ball tucked in, rotate the elbow from pointing behind him to pointing to the floor, and it's that quick of a move. Just show it a couple times back and forth, and then that would lead right into his shot. So, we're going from a Triple Threat, shooting pocket, into the shooting position.
