Behind-the-Back Pass

Behind-the-Back Pass

Behind the Back

  • The body is sideways towards the wall. Pull the stick behind the back.
  • Make a fist on the front of the stick and point at the target.
  • Pop the stick off the shoulder, bringing the elbow up.
  • A second is a Canadian way: pull the stick from down low and off the shoulder.
    • This is better for longer passes.
  • Try to be consistent with where the passes are going.
  • Practice making a pass with either hand.

Coaching Tips

  • A behind-the-back pass may be thought of as a showboat move, but it can come in very handy in the right situation.
  • The wrist postion is really important in this motion.
  • By popping the stick off the shoulder, it helps to be more accuarate.
